Jurlique, the biodynamic skincare company, in cooperation with LOHAS, which stands for Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability -- has announced a scholarship that will allow students in eco and green studies to attend the alternative group's legendary annual gathering -- which this year will be held in Boulder, Colorado, June 18th through 21st.
"LOHAS brings together the fields of socially responsible investing, the environment, spa and travel, design, and alternative health with those working in the areas of progressive social, environmental, and economic change in this country, we feel it is important that students have the chance to attend," said Eli Halliwell, Jurlique's CEO and President.  He added, "This annual gathering attracts a small, but innovative group active in the green space -- with a depth, seriousness, and sense of possibility that is unique."
"Climate change is said to be this generation's civil rights," said Halliwell noting that 458 school presidents have signed the American College and University President's Climate Commitment, which requires schools to have a plan to go carbon neutral within two years of signing.
The Jurlique scholarship is meant to enhance opportunities for budding leaders in the LOHAS marketplace.  "We have developed this special program for students who are studying classes with emphasis on LOHAS and plans to enter a LOHAS industry," noted Eli Halliwell, the CEO and President of Jurlique,  "It is our goal to provide access to the Forum, to the next generation, to ensure these conversations are continued."
Jurlique, known as the biodynamic beauty brand, seeks to educate consumers about the importance of sustainable practices, and supports the LOHAS vision.
For the five recipients of the LOHAS 12 Scholarship, the total registration fee will be covered, as well as accommodations for three nights at the St. Julien Hotel. This includes breakfasts, lunches and receptions June 18th through the 21st.
  Qualifications

  Applicants must:
   -- be a student of higher education
   -- focus or have the intention to focus in the LOHAS market place
   -- have a great attitude towards life and what it presents

  Deadline:
   -- Application deadline is May 21st 2008 with LOHAS contacting the select
      recipients of the scholarship in the week following the application
      deadline.
