Socially Responsible Investing Assets Top $1 Trillion

Assets in socially responsible investments have jumped 85% to $1.185 trillion since 1995 to account for 9% of the $13.7 trillion in U.S. funds under professional management, according to a report by Social Investment Forum (SIF) in Washington, DC. The $1.185 trillion includes $529 billion in screened portfolios, $652 billion in assets run by shareholder-active institutions, and $4 billion in community-based investments..
