Dain Bosworth initiated coverage of Wild Oats Market Inc. (OATS) with a Buy rating. The firm set a 12- to 18-month price target of $52 and said it sees the company earning $.96/share in 1997 and $1.32/share in 1998.

Josephthal Lyon & Ross initiated coverage of Ben & Jerry’s Homemade (BJICA) with a Buy rating and added the stock to its focus list. The firm said Ben & Jerry’s is poised for a turnaround in earnings and a surge in its free-cash flow over the next few years.

Nichols Safina cut its Worthington Foods (WFDS) rating to Long-term Buy.

Adams, Harkness & Hill Inc. gave Garden Botanika Inc. (GBOT) a Market Performer rating, Herbalife International Inc. (HERB) an Attractive rating, and Nu Skin Asia Pacific Inc. (NUS) a Buy rating.

Volpe Brown Whelan & Co. downgraded Oxford Health Plans (OXHP) to Neutral from Buy.
