Avon Products Inc. (NYSE: AVP) has created a new position, Director of Supplier Diversity, and named Donna Westerman, formerly of Bristol-Myers Squibb, to the post. Westerman will develop and manage the company's North American diversity program aimed at equal opportunity in procurement activities for diversified suppliers, according to a Nov. 13 announcement. Avon hopes that Westerman will help the company to expand its existing efforts to procure product ingredients and packaging raw materials from women- and minority-owned businesses, says Avon spokeswoman Laura Castellano.

At Bristol-Myers, Westerman was associate director of supplier diversity procurement.
