American Oriental Bioengineering Inc. (OTC BB: AOBO), a Harbin, China-based developer and manufacturer of bioengineered products, acquired a 100-percent-ownership stake in a large capacity soybean peptide manufacturing plant, which comes with the exclusive rights to market and sell a number of medically functional soybean peptide products, according to a Nov. 20 article at NPICenter.com. The $3.2 million deal includes ownership rights to a Chinese patent-pending process for the extraction and production of soybean peptides called the Protein Peptide Project.

The assets AOBO acquired were developed under a separate program constructed by AOBO President Tony Liu, which consisted of a team of biochemists and biologists working with Harbin Medical University.
