PacificCare Health Systems Inc. and Health Net of California have expanded their complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) coverage, according to a Dec. 17 newsletter from the Pomona, N.Y.-based Collaboration for Healthcare Renewal Foundation (CHRF).

Cypress, Calif.-based PacifiCare's Self-Directed Health Plan allows its employer members to set aside money for their employees to use at their discretion for services including massage therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic, nutritional counseling, smoking cessation and weight-loss programs. Woodland Hills, Calif.-based Health Net has a new program to provide comprehensive coverage for services including chiropractic and acupuncture.
