Study of 52 children shows that calcium intake inversely related to body fat.
A University of Tennessee study of 52 children between the ages of 2 months to 8 years indicates that regular calcium intake can help prevent obesity, according to a Dec. 18 article at NutraIngredients.com. Polyunsaturated fat intake, sedentary lifestyle, female gender, father's body mass index and mother's percent body fat were other contributing factors related to body fat in the study group.
