Carly Wertheim
Teens Turning Green
Co-President

Carly Wertheim, a high school senior in Marin County, California, has taken a lead role in the non-profit Teens Turning Green for the past three years and is currently the co-president of the campaign. She has presented at assemblies at middle and high schools all over the Bay Area, at festivals, businesses, congregations, and other large groups educating about the harmful chemicals found in our daily products and in our world and the steps to become more informed consumers. She takes great pride in influencing other people so they can protect their health and help make the world more sustainable. She has written and produced several videos for the campaign, most recently for Lips Against Lead, a project she conceived to help ban lead from lipstick. She is a mentor to younger members as her passion and enthusiasm for the issues is contagious and heartfelt. She hopes to study environmental toxicology when she heads to college in the fall and utilize her wisdom gained from the campaign as she discovers her path.
