Joan Boykin

In the seventies while managing Boykin Design Associates, Joan’s passion for natural foods led her to design work at Alfalfa’s Markets, a leading natural foods chain that was eventually purchased by Wild Oats Markets. Later, she joined Celestial Seasonings and spent nearly 14 years there, first in the eighties as Design Manager/Art Director and later, from 1997-2007, as Director of Marketing, New Products, Public Relations and Retail.

Joan also served as Director of Marketing for Wild Oats Markets, Creative Director and Vice President of New Business for New Hope Natural Media, and Vice President of Marketing for Fresh Produce Sportswear—all in Boulder, Colorado.

Today Joan is President of Boykin Marketing, Public Relations & Coaching. She does consulting for a variety of companies, primarily in natural and organic industry, and is also a Life Coach.

Joan was a founding member of The Organic Center and served on the Board of Directors.  She is on the Naturally Boulder Board of Directors and Leadership Committee, the Board of Directors of Under the Canopy EcoFashion, and the Advisory Board of CORE.

Joan has a Master’s Degree in Psychology/Organizational Psychology from Regis University, two Bachelor’s Degrees, several Professional Certifications, and is a self-professed “learning junkie.”
