Barney Feinblum

Barnet (Barney) M. Feinblum has spent the past 31 years managing and growing companies in the thriving natural and organic products industry. He founded Organic Vintners, importers of organic wine, in 2002. He is also a founding general partner in Greenmont Capital Partners, a private equity firm which focuses on the natural and organic products industry.

Prior to discovering the world of wine, Mr. Feinblum was the President and CEO of Horizon Organic Dairy from 1995 to 2000. He led the company in its initial public offering in July 1998 (NASDAQ: HCOW). He, along with his three partners at Horizon, received the Boulder Chamber of Commerce’s 1998 “Entrepreneurs of the Year” award. Horizon is now part of Dean Foods.

As part of his original industry focus on natural beverages, Barney made his first foray into the industry with herbal tea. From 1976 through 1993, Mr. Feinblum served in various capacities with Celestial Seasonings (NASDAQ: HAIN) eventually becoming its Chairman, CEO and President. In 1988, Mr. Feinblum led the management group that purchased Celestial Seasonings from Kraft Foods. In 1990 he developed the company’s headquarters and manufacturing facilities, now a major area tourist attraction in Boulder, CO. During his tenure at Celestial, he also served as a director of the Tea Council of the United States. Mr. Feinblum earned the Boulder Chamber of Commerce’s “Business Person of the Year” award in 1989.

Mr. Feinblum serves as a Director of Gaiam (NASDAQ: GAIA), a public company, Seventh Generation (recycled paper and environmentally friendly household cleaning products) and Bossa Nova (antioxidant açai juices). In 2004, Mr. Feinblum was named a Boulder Chamber of Commerce Esprit Entrepreneur Award winner. He and his colleagues, Mo Siegel and John Hay of Celestial Seasonings, were awarded the Chamber’s 20th Anniversary Visionary Award.

Mr. Feinblum was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering in 1970 from Cornell University and a Masters of Business Administration in 1975 from the University of Colorado.
