Tim Larsen
Tim Larsen is the Senior International Marketing Specialist with the Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA). The Colorado Department of Agriculture provides business development assistance for farmers, ranchers and food processors in developing and growing crops and businesses including local, domestic and international market development. Current focus includes targeting assistance to Colorado companies in obtaining state and federal support in expanding company’s exports as well as creating coordinated marketing efforts for Colorado companies through state pavilions at key industry trade shows.
Since the mid 1990’s Tim has lead initiatives which have created US Organic and Natural Foods seminars and promotions in Japan, Canada and Europe. This has included industry seminars with product showcases in Tokyo, Osaka, London and Hamburg. Tim initiated the US Pavilion at the annual BioFach trade show in Germany, the largest trade show exclusively for organic products. Tim was a contributor to the FAO (Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations) publication “World markets for organic fruits and vegetables” and a Speaker at the UN sponsored “Conference on Supporting the Diversification of Exports in the Caribbean/Latin American Region through the Development of Organic Horticulture”, in Trinidad and Tobago.
Tim Larsen was raised in Colorado and a graduate of the University of Colorado. He has also been a principle in an internet based business supplying mountain bike frames to the US market and is currently an owner of Tsukiji Market Baskets, which imports bamboo shopping baskets from Vietnam, currently sold in 5 states.
