Mary Bemis

Mary Bemis is the Co-founder and Editor in Chief of Organic Spa Magazine, a quarterly consumer publication launched in January of 2007. A well-respected spa expert, Mary has covered the spa industry for a number of publications both here and abroad since penning her first spa feature nearly 20 years ago. In 1997, she launched American Spa magazine, an award-winning trade publication where she served as Editor in Chief. In 2004, Mary went on to help launch New Beauty magazine, where she served as Spa Editor. This was followed by stints as the Contributing Editor of Home Spa Design for the newly revamped Luxury SpaFinder magazine, and as Contributing Editor at Spa magazine. In 2005, Mary founded and launched www.insidersguidetospas.com.

As a spa expert, Mary speaks regularly on spa and wellness trends at numerous industry events and serves as a spa adviser to corporations wanting to learn more about the industry. A former board of director for the International Spa Association (ISPA), Mary has appeared on radio and television programs, including CBS's The Early Show, CNN's Headline News, the Style Network, HG TV, Lime Radio, and Fox Health Network. She sits on the board of directors for the New York State Spa Alliance (NYSPA) and the Editorial Advisory Board for Shape magazine.

Her work has appeared in many national and international publications, including Allure, Self, Shape, Glamour South Africa, Marie Claire Germany, New Beauty, Luxe, Luxury SpaFinder, Spa Asia, Pilates Style, and Spirituality and Health magazines. She lives in New York City.
