Katie Wallace

Katie Wallace is the Sustainability Specialist (aka, Purveyor of the Good Life!) at Colorado-based, employee-owned New Belgium Brewing Company.  She is one of two full time coworkers dedicated solely to sustainability.  Rather than thinking of this two-person team as a “Sustainability Department”, they like to consider themselves facilitators of the brewery-wide conversation around sustainability.  Katie helps to set the strategic direction of NBB’s sustainability efforts, engage coworkers in these initiatives and offer expertise during decision making.  As this compassionate business revolution gains momentum, Katie shares NBB’s story at events in Colorado and throughout the nation.
Katie’s formal education in Economics and Finance prepared her for her first role at the brewery, in 2004, analyzing beer trends and forecasting beer sales.  Her passion for cultural innovation, environmental sustainability and life-long learning helped her to move into the role of Sustainability Specialist, which she has held since 2008.
