Stephanie Owens

Stephanie Owens is the Director of Public Engagement in the Office of the Administrator at the Environmental Protection Agency. In this role, she advises Administrator Lisa P. Jackson and other senior EPA officials on strategic efforts to collaborate with business, industry and non-governmental organizations. She also leads EPA’s public outreach staff and directs their effort to build capacity in racially and ethnically diverse communities to broaden the participation in the environmental movement.
Stephanie was formally the senior vice president of The Agency LLC, a consulting firm specializing in the development of corporate social responsibility strategies. Her clients included the National Football League and Major League Baseball. She also served as the Vice President of Collaborative Initiatives for the American Cancer Society, Special Assistant to Vice President Al Gore for the Federal Interagency Task Force on St. Petersburg, Senior Advisor to Commerce Secretary Ron Brown and Special Assistant to Secretary Henry Cisneros.
Owens is a graduate of the University of Southern California and native of Detroit, Michigan.
