Sue Harvey Brown
Sue leads the marketing efforts for Patagonia Footwear, one of Wolverine World Wide, Inc.’s portfolio of 12 owned and licensed brands (the company is the global footwear licensee for Patagonia, Inc.). Sue’s 14-year career at Wolverine has taken her from leather (Harley-Davison Footwear) to polar fleece (Merrell), where her specialties included event activation, retailer marketing and cause relationships. Most recently with Patagonia Footwear, Sue was challenged with a limited marketing budget and making its 1% for the Planet membership relevant to customers. She created the “Advocate Weeks” program, a way for Patagonia Footwear to partner with local and online retailers to raise awareness and funds for organizations that support conservation and environmental education. The program has been a win-win-win: a win for Patagonia Footwear (increased store presence, improved retail partnerships); a win for the non-profit groups (increased consumer awareness, fund raising); and a win for retailers (community involvement, product “sell-thru”).
