Holistic Health Tool Developer, VitaScans Inc, of Watsonville, announced the immediate availability of the TouchStone, the world’s first ‘personal awareness and emotional response tester,’ a microprocessor controlled health tool designed for the consumer market.

A highly portable two-ounce, two-and-a-half-inch disc, the TouchStone was initially developed as an Electronic Muscle Tester (An Applied Kinesiology device to test foods, products and supplements), which was previewed to LOHAS 10 attendees. Since then, consumer feedback told VitaScans that the unit had the additional potential of evaluating responses to subconscious thoughts and idea validation, so VitaScans revised both the software and the internal mechanisms, complying to strict RoHS standards, to reposition the TouchStone as the world’s first Self-Analysis (Emotional Response Tester) Tool, for consumers wishing to get in touch with their ‘little voice inside.’

The microprocessor controlled TouchStone stores and compares two finger pressure readings to indicate whether a statement or thought was positive, negative, or neutral to a person’s psychological state.  A spokesperson for VitaScans commented, “We developed the TouchStone in response to the growing trend for people wanting to better understand their own health and wellness.  The TouchStone development team includes Buryl Payne PhD., psychotherapist and patent holder of the first biofeedback machine and the originator of the granola bar for General Mills; Franklyn Eventoff, inventor of the force-sensing resistor; and Peter Mackeonis, a consumer software design and marketing professional for over 25 years for companies such as LG,  IBM, Atari, and Commodore Amiga.”

VitaScans sees the new TouchStone as a major breakthrough in personal awareness and would like to see the unit available both under its own name and that of established specialist retailers such as Whole Foods and distributed under the prestige labels such as Gaiam, Homedics and GNC, before migrating the product into the general drugstore chains such as CVS, Longs and Walgreen’s.

VitaScans also sees the tens of thousands of individually owned health & wellness stores and online catalogs as important to its growth and has responded to this channel by creating a trade-only site at www.santacruzholistics.com, which provides secure online ordering, drop shipping and online delivery information service for this sector of its business.
