Greg Johnson has been hired as Upland Global Corp.’s president of American operations. Johnson was formerly president of Quality Special Products USA.

Natrol Inc. hired Jon Denis as VP of corporate sales. He was most recently a 14-year veteran of Conair.

Stonyfield Farm named John E. Daigle VP of operations. He was formerly plant manager at Columbo/Yoplait.

Mark Novak has been named CEO of Arrowhead Mills. Novak was previously GM.

Neil Reay is the new VP of marketing for Majestic Management, responsible for the Silver Sage and Basic Research brands. He was formerly with Nature’s Way Products.

The Organic Crop Improvement Association (OCIA) appointed John Moore, a 10-year organic inspector, as chief operations officer at OCIA International.

Kali’s Sport Naturals has hired Lori Pierson to be national sales manager in charge of its new club and convenience store division.

Senetek PLC promoted Cliff Brune to group president and COO from CFO. David Carey, formerly VP of finance for Senetek’s wholly owned subsidiary Carmé Cosmeceutical Sciences Corp., was promoted to VP of finance for Senetek.

United Natural Foods said 14-year CFO Steven Townsend will retire to pursue personal interests but will remain on the board of directors. Korn Ferry was hired to conduct a new CFO search.

Rexall Sundown Inc. (RXSD) named Nickolas Palin, a director and former VP, president of its Sundown division. Stephen Frabitore was named senior VP and GM of the Sundown division.

Nature’s Sunshine Products Inc. (NATR) has appointed Daniel Howells president and CEO. He succeeds Kristine Hughes, interim president and chairwoman of the board of directors, who will remain chairwoman.

Martek Biosciences Corp. (MATK) said Jerome Keller, former VP of sales for Merck & Co., has joined Martek as senior VP of sales and marketing.

Paracelsian Inc. (PRLN) appointed Thomas Tachovsky, Ph.D., formerly with Protyde Pharmaceuticals Inc., as acting CEO and president. Keith Rhodes resigned as chairman, president and CEO but will remain a director of the company.

Gum Tech International (GUMM) appointed Mark Kline as VP, marketing; James Marini, national sales manager, supermarket sales; and Kazumi Iino, director of sales in Asian markets.
