Lunds Uptown grocery in Minneapolis is adding an alternative health clinic and a larger selection of natural products as part of a Living Wise concept that the regional chain is implementing.

Sainsbury’s, a British supermarket chain, has opened what it says is “the world’s most energy-efficient supermarket” in Greenwich.

Delhaize America is opening new stores that will test a gourmet format called The Village Market in a 17,500-sq.-ft. location in VA and in a 49,000-sq.-ft. round Kash n’ Karry in FL. Delhaize posted $10.2 billion in revenues in 1998.

Quality Food Centers opened its first store in Enumclaw, WA, including a natural foods department and an organic produce section. The company operates 87 stores in OR and WA.
