Gerber Products Co., a subsidiary of Novartis, the Swiss pharmaceutical and nutritional products company, has introduced its Tender Harvest organic baby foods line in mainstream grocery chains and natural and organic foods stores. There will be approximately 20 products in the line by the end of 1997. Gerber hopes the new line will eventually garner 2% to 2.5% of the $900 million baby foods market, of which 66.8% currently belongs to Gerber.
