Vitamin Makers Settle With CA on Lead

Nine multivitamin manufacturers, including Country Life, General Nutrition Cos. (GNCI), Pharmavite, Perrigo (PRGO), Twinlab (TWLB), and Weider Nutrition (WNI), have settled with the state of CA over allowable lead levels in their products. The settlements set levels of allowable, naturally occurring lead in seven ingredients and established the amount of naturally occurring lead that is excluded from counting toward the state’s .5 mcg/day exposure limit for each ingredient.
