After analyzing data in its Global New Products Database, London-based market research company Mintel International Group Ltd. says that consumers in 2003 will enthusiastically embrace white tea as both a beverage and an ingredient in hair and skin care products, vitamins and healthcare products and other food products. Also popular will be healthy, quick-to-prepare Asian-theme meals, citrus and wasabi flavors and the scent vanilla.

Mintel also predicts that low-carbohydrate claims may usurp the popularity of low-fat claims and that coffee drinks for kids could come about next year, according to a Nov. 27 article at NutraIngredients.com.
