The
U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) first International Green Building Conference and Expo held in Austin, Texas, in mid November drew 200 exhibitors and more than 3,500 attendees—more than double the number USGBC had expected—to discuss green and sustainable design, buildings systems and components, policy and planning and attend more than 80 seminars. USGBC is planning a 2003 green building conference in Pittsburgh and a 2004 conference in Portland, Ore.
