Yoga Journal's First Los Angeles Conference Slated for March 2003

Yoga Journal will hold its first West coast conference. Slated for Mar. 14-17, 2003, the Los Angeles event is dubbed Tradition and Innovation: Seeking the Authentic Heart of Practice. The
Journal says that renowned yoga teachers including Baron Baptiste, Patricia Walden, Judith Lasater, Rod Stryker, Shiva Rea, John Friend, David Life, Sharon Gannon, Erich Schiffmann and Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa will be in attendance, according to a Dec. 3
announcement.
Balance Bar to Dole Out Mind/Body Grants Again
Balance Bar will award at least four grants next quarter to people who pursue activities that integrate body and mind. Grant applicants must convince Balance Bar that their activities incorporate mind/body principles and illustrate how the grant money would help further their pursuit of the activities. The next grant deadline is Jan. 15, 2002. Since the grant program's inception, Balance Bar has awarded 30 grants, according to a Dec. 3 announcement.
