Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Cleantech Venture Network says that at the current pace, investment in clean technology should total $1.3 billion by the end of 2003, up .2 percent vs. 2002. In addition, 7.4 percent of all dollars invested in the U.S. in 2003 have gone to clean technology this year.
"A significant number of new investors, combined with heightened media interest, suggest a genuine cleantech community of investors, entrepreneurs and stakeholders is emerging," states Nicholas Parker, co-founder and chairman of the Cleantech Venture Network, in a Dec. 15 announcement.
