SunOpta Completes Dakota Gourmet Purchase

Deal is SunOpta's second recent acquisition.

SunOpta Inc. (Nasdaq - STKL) (TSX - SOY) has completed its previously announced acquisition of Wahpeton, N.D.-based Sonne Labs Inc. for an unspecified amount of cash. Sonne Labs, which operates under the name Dakota Gourmet, operates four facilities in Minnesota, North Dakota and Kansas. Dakota Gourmet sells natural and organic snack foods made of soy, corn and sunflower, according to a Nov. 27 SunOpta announcement.

SunOpta also closed its previously announced purchase of Breckenridge, Minn.-based SIGCO Sun Products Inc. for undisclosed terms.

SunOpta recently changed its name from Stake Technology Ltd.
