This week people are making news at Culinova and Abbott Laboratories.

Nutrition industry veteran Loren Israelsen has joined the Culinova team, according to a Dec. 15 Culinova announcement. Israelsen, president of the Salt Lake City-based LDI Group, who served as president of Nature's Way Products Inc. and as general counsel for the American Herbal Products Association, will have an unspecified role at Putnam Valley, N.Y.-based Culinova.

Abbott Laboratories (NYSE:ABT) has promoted Gary McCullough to the position of senior VP for its Ross Products Division. McCullough, who most recently worked as a senior VP for Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, will take over for the retiring Gary Flynn.
