Knitting in many cultures is a time-honored tradition that has significant cultural meaning and purpose but sometimes does not yield the financial rewards that some feel it should.  Indigenous Design sets its prices together with the cooperatives in hopes that it will economically enabling these artisans to have the ability to guide their own development in a way that sustains tradition, home, land use, and community bonds while resisting destructive influences. Indigenous Designs utilizes NGO and Knitting Cooperative efforts for over 50% of its product line. In all cases we apply Fair Trade principals and high environmental standards for our production.
